Rescue Dog Training
There have been many victims saved by rescue dogs whether
they have been dead or alive. Throughout recent times rescue dogs have been
used for search and rescue in natural disasters and tragedy. They have an
incredible sense of smell and can get into small crevices and areas that humans
can't reach. Rescue dog training is the maker of heroes, not just dogs that can
help in these situations. They work hard and they live for praise and the
reward of their hard play (they don't know they are working).
Rescue dogs need training to focus on the task no matter
what obstacles come in their way. They will confront odors of every kind which
can be distracting to any dog. However, in their rescue dog training, they will
know to stay on the job and not be distracted. There are many breeds and each
one has a specific ability. When these dogs are trained, they become a
valuable tool for a search and rescue team
There are Labrador Retrievers who are known to be the
absolute champion cadaver dogs all over the world. Bloodhounds or course are
known for their uncanny ability as a great search dog. Then there is the
Newfoundland's who are known throughout the world as rescuing many in
avalanches and snow storms. These are some of our greatest hero rescue dogs.
There are also rescue dog training for German Shepherds,
Belgian Malinois, and of course the Golden Retrievers, who are exceptional at
tracking scents and leading rescuers to these scents. We may think that it is
the dogs ability to track scents that make him such a great rescue dog, but
that is not always the case. The best rescue dog training has been because of a
dogs attitude.
A dog is closely assessed before they are allowed to
begin a rescue dog training program. They will actually choose a dog that loves
to play, as these are more apt to play for the reward. Rescue work, may be work
for us, but for a rescue dog, it is play with a reward at the end.
If you are thinking about rescue dog training for your
dog, do some thorough research on this subject as it will be a huge commitment
in both your time and your money. The best thing to begin with is to have your
dog assessed for his temperament and go from there.
