Dog Training Obedience
One of the best gifts you can give to yourself and your
dog is a bit of dog training. Obedience training will not solve all of your
dogs problem behavior, but you will provide a solid foundation for some great
behavior problem-solving skills. You are creating a line of communication with
your dog that will make these problem solving skills more effective. And,
effective communication is vital when you are instructing your dog to follow
your commands. You will be teaching her the basics such as 'stay' (don't take
off running when the door opens) and to 'sit' (stay off the people sitting on
the sofa), and 'off' (stop chewing my new furniture).
Without dog training, obedience is non-existent, at least
not to the extent where they will be acceptable in a social situation.
Basically, a dog is a social animal, and we need to provide some proper
training for them to know how to behave. Without training, they will chew on
your slippers, your furniture, get into your garbage, dig holes in your yard,
pee on your carpet, be difficult to take on walks, and even bite you or someone
else. The list of course could go on, but I think you understand the message I
am trying to convey.
All of these problems are normal dog behavior, they are
not doing anything wrong in their mind, and they are not trying to be naughty.
But yoiu want to let your dog know that there are rules regarding their normal
dog behavior, in public, when it comes to your home and other people.
With proper dog training, obedience will be second nature
and you and your dog will then know how to effectively communicate with each
other. You will also be teaching him respect and compliance for you by teaching
him to obey your simple requests such as 'sit' and 'come'. You an also do some
dog training obedience by teaching him how to 'shake hands, or fun things like
'roll over'. You will find that almost every dog loves to perform and loves
the attention he gets even more. And while you are being entertained, you are
building a great relationship with your dog.
